Job summary

Midwest City - Del City School District is seeking a Tier 1 Paraprofessional / Teacher's Assistant for Pleasant Hill Elementary / Forest Park in Oklahoma. Starting immediately, you will support the lead teacher by reinforcing lessons, tutoring students, and helping implement lesson plans to maintain a safe learning environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred associate degree or completion of college credits or tests as outlined.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree or higher; or Have passed WorkKeys, OK General Education Test, or completed 48 college hours at an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with lesson preparation by getting materials ready and setting up equipment.
• Conduct learning activities with both large and small groups of children.
• Communicate with and work cohesively with the classroom teacher to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
• Assist with the supervision of children during instructional periods.
• Oversee students during non-instructional times including transitions, lunch and recess, arrival and dismissal, and on field trips.
• Ensure the classroom environment is safe and clean.
