Job summary

Wethersfield Public Schools seeks a Behavior Specialist for Emerson-Williams Elementary School. The role supports students with diverse needs, implements behavior plans under supervision, and collaborates with teachers, families and the admin team.

Position offers 32.5 hours weekly, 10-month calendar, and pay range $25.39–$31.12 per hour. Start date is immediate; travel between assignments may occur as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or 60 college credits or ParaPro certification required.
• RBT credential and trauma-informed practices training preferred or willing to complete.
• Experience with students with special needs and collaboration with staff required.
• Ability to follow teacher instructions and support behavior plans.
• Capability to lift up to 25 pounds and participate in crisis interventions.

Responsibilities

• Maintain fairness and positive relationships with students, families and staff.
• Implement and support behavior plans under supervision and school goals.
• Provide individual support and crisis management as needed.
• Document daily data and communicate with teachers and admin.
• Assist with mobility and daily activities and supervise bus arrivals as needed.
