Job summary

Wichita Public Schools seeks a Qualified Behavior Interventionist for the 2026-2027 school year to support students, teachers, and families with daily behavior regulation, relationship building, and problem solving.

Responsibilities include providing leadership on evidence-based practices, modeling supports with students, coaching staff and administrators, collecting behavioral data, collaborating with the Child Study Team, and ensuring fidelity to Behavior Intervention Plans.

Qualifications

• Kansas Teaching license, School Counseling License, or Social Work license.
• 3–5 years of teaching experience preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Provides behavioral leadership and staff development on evidence-based practices.
• Models evidence-based behavior supports with students.
• Coaches and collaborates with staff and administrators on positive behavior supports.
• Identifies resources for students and staff.
• Collects and analyzes behavioral data to drive changes.
• Collaborates with Child Study Team and classroom teachers for problem solving.
• Identifies behavioral escalation and de-escalation strategies.
• Monitors fidelity to Behavior Intervention Plans.
• Observes staff implementing interventions for procedural accuracy.
