Job summary

Wallingford-Swarthmore School District seeks a Special Education Teacher for Elementary Autistic Support in Nether Providence Township, PA. The role focuses on delivering highly structured instruction, ABA-informed strategies, and AAC/visual supports to students with autism in a low-incidence program.

Under the principal's supervision, you will lead IEP meetings, collaborate with SLPs, OTs, and other specialists, adapt curriculum to individual needs, and supervise paraprofessionals.

Qualifications

• Valid Pennsylvania Special Education certificate PK-12 or PK-8.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience with ABA principles and verbal behavior preferred.
• Experience with non-verbal learners and AAC/visual systems.
• Experience administering autism-focused assessments like VB-MAPP or ABLLS-R.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver structured elementary Autistic Support instruction.
• Lead ABA-informed instruction and track learner milestones.
• Coordinate with SLPs, OTs, PTs, BCBA, and psychologists daily.
• Administer and interpret VB-MAPP/ABLLS-R assessments.
• Lead IEP meetings and maintain ongoing family communication.
• Supervise paraprofessionals and ensure safety procedures.
