Job summary

YES Prep in Houston, TX is seeking an Assistant Principal (11-month) to lead instructional improvement and campus initiatives. The role reports to the Principal and emphasizes coaching teachers, RTI implementation, and ensuring high-quality instruction across classrooms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year educational institution.
• At least two years of exemplary instructional leadership and/or Grade-Level Chair experience.
• At least three years of exemplary teaching.
• Experience in administration and/or supervision.
• Certification in teaching/instruction.
• Commitment to continuous learning and development.
• Ability to work outside of normal hours and on weekends.
• Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep.

Responsibilities

• Managing progress toward increased student achievement for a cohort of teachers.
• Coaching campus Interventionists and leaders delivering targeted instruction.
• Observing and evaluating teachers with classroom observations and feedback.
• Planning RTI steps to establish and maintain strong academic mindset and outcomes.
• Leading professional learning opportunities for campus staff.
• Overseeing campus testing to ensure accuracy and fidelity.
• Providing leadership and support on culture, discipline, and family engagement.
• Developing and executing intervention programs to address barriers to achievement.
• Building and maintaining positive school culture among students, staff, and parents.
• Leading family engagement programming and community relations.
