Job summary

Soliant Health is seeking Sign Language Interpreters to work one-on-one with elementary students in the Virginia Beach area. Positions run from August 25, 2026, through June 15, 2027, with a full-time schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities include providing effective 1:1 interpretation, adapting methods to each student, collaborating with teachers, and traveling between schools within the region to ensure coverage and continuity of learning.

Qualifications

• Valid VA Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III certification is required.
• EIPA score 3.5+ preferred; scores above 3.0 or a QAS score of 3 or better will also be interviewed.
• Experience interpreting in educational settings, especially with elementary students, is highly valued.
• Flexibility to work across different campuses based on student assignments.
• Professionalism and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Positive attitude and genuine passion for supporting accessible learning.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective 1:1 sign language interpretation for assigned elementary students throughout the school day.
• Adapt interpreting methods to each student’s unique communication preferences.
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to foster an inclusive classroom environment.
• Travel between schools within the region as needed to provide coverage.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records according to school policy.
