LEAP Academy University Charter School in Camden, NJ seeks a Kindergarten Instructional Assistant to support the classroom teacher in delivering instruction and fostering a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment.

The ideal candidate will assist with daily classroom activities, support students' academic and social-emotional development, and help establish a positive foundation for lifelong learning.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college credits preferred.
• Minimum of one year elementary classroom experience.
• New Jersey Substitute Teacher's Certificate.
• Experience and comfort working directly in an urban classroom setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher with the implementation of the curriculum.
• Assist students during transitions (lunch and recess).
• Assist teacher with recordkeeping and data (attendance, homework, etc.).
• Assists teacher with classroom management/monitoring.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and/or Principal.

The ideal candidate will assist with daily classroom activities, support students' academic and social-emotional development, and help establish a positive foundation for lifelong learning.
