Job summary

Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA is seeking a skilled electrophysiology technician to support physicians during EP procedures and to provide care for adult and geriatric patients in the cardiac lab.

The role requires professional certifications such as ARRT/RCIS/RCES/IBHRE/CEPS or equivalent training, BLS/ACLS, and a strong knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation; advancement by certification is encouraged within two years.

Qualifications

• Must possess one of ARRT, RCIS, RCES, IBHRE, CEPS or prior invasive cardiology training.
• BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.
• Must obtain advanced specialty certification within two years of hire date.
• Preferred: experience in electrophysiology or interventional cardiac lab.
• Preferred: RCES/IBHRE/CEPS or RCIS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians during electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, radiofrequency ablation, and other invasive cardiac procedures; operates the electrophysiology recorder and monitors hemodynamic data.
• Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cath lab setting.

Assists physicians during electrophysiology procedures, pacemaker/ICD insertions, radiofrequency ablation, and other miscellaneous procedures required by operating the electrophysiology recorder, hemodynamic monitoring computer and/or scrubbing for invasive cardiac and vascular procedures. Provides patient care to adult and geriatric patients.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED

1.Must possess one (1) of the following: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), IBHRE, CEPS (Certified Electrophysiology Specialist) and/or prior applicable training/experience in invasive cardiology and/or electrophysiology.

2.Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

3.Thorough knowledge of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.

4.Must obtain advanced specialty certification within two years of hire date.

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED FOR
PREFERRED:
1. Experience in electrophysiology or interventional cardiac cath lab.

2. Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners (IBHRE) Certification (Formerly NASPE) or previous electrophysiology experience.

3. Certified Electrophysiology Specialist (CEPS Allied Health)

4. Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)

5. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS).
