Job summary

UnityPoint Health is seeking a Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) to join the interdisciplinary Electrophysiology Lab team in Cedar Rapids. You will contribute CVT knowledge and assist with invasive cardiac procedures, collaborating closely with RN staff and physicians.

The role includes secondary circulator, scrub tech, and monitor responsibilities. The position emphasizes clinical excellence and patient education, with opportunities to advance clinical skills in the Cath Lab, electrophysiology

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program in invasive cardiovascular technology.
• Current RCIS or RCES certification (CCI) with certification within 12 months of hire.
• Must possess and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Must possess hospital CORE (Chain of Response in a...).

Responsibilities

• Assesses the needs of patients undergoing invasive cardiac procedures and provides necessary teaching and referrals.
• Assists physicians in developing patient care plans with the health-care team.
• Completes documentation promptly to maintain an accurate legal record of care.
• Delivers high-quality care in the Cath Lab under physician supervision and with appropriate imaging/radiation safety.
• Maintains sterile fields and a clean procedure environment and operates electrophysiology lab equipment.
