Job summary

Socket.dev in Derby, Kansas, is seeking a Test Technician under the Production Manager to perform manual testing, debugging, repair, and final verification of electronic assemblies. You will work from established test procedures, document results, and help ensure products meet specifications.

Qualifications

• At least one year in electronic test or related field preferred; may acquire necessary skills within 90 days.
• Associate degree or technical certification in electronics required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Soldering certification preferred; ability to demonstrate soldering skills (SMT and through hole).
• Ability to read engineering blueprints and schematics and interpret engineering documentation.
• Must have knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters and miscellaneous test equipment.
• Must be able to work overtime including weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial tests upon receiving electronic assemblies from sub-assembly using established test procedures.
• Solder inspection of assemblies; familiarity with IPC 610 desirable.
• Troubleshoots electronic assemblies to component level and replaces components as required.
• Generates problem reports on tested assemblies and collaborates with Engineering for resolution.
• Documents assembly issues and provides guidance to assemblers.
• Ensures test equipment remains calibrated and within specifications.
• Reads manufacturing docs such as blueprints and schematics and follows instructions.
• Enters test information into logs and computer files.
• Labels products that pass inspection and forwards to shipping/receiving.
