Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Test Engineer in the United States to support new product introductions and fixture design. You will design and build test fixtures, troubleshoot, train technicians, and contribute to process improvements, reporting to CS&Q and Product Engineering.

The role involves hands-on testing, calibration oversight, and collaboration across facilities, with a focus on reliability, safety, and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical or electronic engineering.
  • Significant experience with test engineering.
  • Programming languages: LabVIEW, Visual Basic, C++, Python and/or PLC.
  • Skill in configuring and troubleshooting TCP/IP networks.
  • Ability to analyze schematic circuit designs to understand design theory.
  • Ability to troubleshoot test/repair at component level.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in new product introduction and product line transfers between facilities.
  • Design electrical and computer test fixtures using relay logic, PLCs and/or computer controls.
  • Design and build testing simulators and other devices.
  • Train, evaluate, and assist direct labor Testers and Test Technicians.
  • Troubleshoot electrical test fixtures for repair and production areas.
  • Develop, document, and maintain work instructions and test procedures.
  • Resolve Engineering Investigations into root cause failures.
  • Assist with test equipment selection, capital justification and procurement.
  • Support Lean, Six Sigma and 5S projects and Kaizen/TPM/Value Stream initiatives.
  • Oversee calibration of instruments/testers.

Job description

What will you do?

• Assist in new product introduction and product line transfers between facilities
• Design electrical and computer test fixtures using relay logic, PLC’s and/or computer controls
• Design and build testing simulators and other devices
• Train, evaluate, and assist direct labor Testers and Test Technicians.
• Troubleshoot electrical test fixtures for both repair and production areas.
• Develop, document, and maintain work instructions and test procedures.
• Resolve Engineering Investigations into root cause failures.
• Assist with test equipment selection, capital justification and procurement
• Support local Lean, Six Sigma and 5S projects and assist with Kaizen/TPM/Value Stream
• Responsible for ensuring proper and sufficient test equipment is available.
• Responsible for overseeing/maintaining other computer controlled and/or automated equipment as assigned.
• Position includes hands-on testing and troubleshooting with shop test personnel and Test Technicians.
• Oversee the calibration of instruments/testers.
• Gather product requirements (e.g. functionalities, speed, safety standards)

What qualifications will make you successful?

• Programming languages: LabVIEW, Visual Basic, C++, Python and/or PLC
• Skill in configuring and troubleshooting TCPIP networks
• Ability to analyze schematic circuit designs to understand underlying design theory.
• Ability to troubleshooting techniques for test/repair at component level
• Knowledge and proficient in all Microsoft applications

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 86,400 - USD 129,600 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
