Schneider Electric is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan and execute R&D projects for ANSI/IEEE MV switchgear and control-gear products. You will develop concepts, create 3D CAD models and BOMs, and work with cross-functional teams to meet performance and manufacturability requirements.
This role includes independent design work, data gathering, prototype testing, and providing documentation. Travel up to 10% may be required in the US.
The Mechanical Engineer will work on and plan R&D projects for Medium Voltage (MV) switchgear and control-gear products. In this role you willrepresent the engineering team in communications with cross-functional organizations.

S/he will be responsible for preparing or creating or reviewing concepts or detailed designs for new ANSI/IEEE Medium Voltage Switchgear products including the 3D CAD models, Drawings and Bills of Material. S/he will work independently, exercises latitude and judgment to develop designs with minimal supervision. S/he may re review work of Designers on some phases of design
Additionally, S/he will be accountable for investigating and procuring all data required to develop complex designs. S/he will prepare models and diagrams. In addition, S/he will be involved in preparing accurate layout, detail, and assembly drawings. S/he will perform mechanical analysis of mechanisms including tolerance, stress, deformation and kinematic. Furthermore, S/he will be responsible for prototype building, testing and validation of the design as per standards and marketing requirements.
10% travel required to perform UL testing at laboratories.

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 68,000 - USD 102,000 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
