Job description

Develop test hardware and software from requirements definition through build and integration, followed by deployment to manufacturing or customer facilities
Design, support, and integrate communications, RF, analog, digital, firmware, and systems integration solutions
Define and lead Preliminary and Detailed Design Reviews
Prepare and present work products at project status meetings
Meet established project budget, schedule, and performance commitments
Work with mechanical engineering on test adapter and fixturing design activities
Support manufacturing operations through onsite troubleshooting and debugging with production and design engineering teams
Provide hardware and software deliverables and onsite training to final operators
Function autonomously within a multifunctional team environment
Enhance knowledge of the test engineering discipline and mechanical engineering tools

Requirements

Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. government-issued security clearance
U.S. citizenship required for security-clearance eligibility
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and a minimum of 3 years of experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering design and development, preferably related to test equipment development
Experience working in an engineering laboratory and transitioning automated solutions to production environments
Experience delivering hardware and software deliverables and providing onsite training to final operators
Mechanical Engineering skill set desirable, with experience in Cadence and/or AutoCAD design capture tooling
Strong interpersonal communication and technical writing skills
Experience with National Instruments software suite, including TestStand, LabWindows/CVI, and/or LabVIEW preferred
Hardware station design experience using rack instrumentation, PXIe/MXI, and VME application development preferred
Experience with digital, RF, and/or power supply test hardware and/or software design preferred
MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Visio knowledge
Understanding of engineering processes such as CMMI and Six Sigma
Decision-making and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
