Job summary

R&D Interconnect Solutions in Allentown, PA seeks an Engineering Technician to operate and program production equipment, learn CAD/CAM tools, assemble elastomeric product, inspect parts and write SOPs.

You will read work instructions, plan and execute development projects with engineers, solder under a microscope, follow 6S and safety rules, and identify root causes for process improvements.

Qualifications

• AS or BS degree in an engineering discipline.
• Familiarity with inspection tools and electronic test equipment.
• Ability to solder under a microscope.

Responsibilities

• Operate manufacturing equipment: set-up, program, operation, and shutdown
• Read and interpret work instructions and electronic and printed documents and forms
• Plan and execute complex development projects in collaboration with engineers and other technicians and analyze resulting data
• Inspect product using microscope and electronic measurement equipment; identify defects and determine root cause of process related issues
• Identify and segregate Quality related issues
• Solder small components onto PCB's
• Solder under a microscope
• Perform rework
• Enter data into ERP system
• Suggest process improvements and cost reductions
• Follow clean room policies, practice 6S principles in order to maintain a safe, neat, and orderly workplace
• Adhere to all safety rules and regulations
