Job summary

Systems Application & Technologies Inc. (SA-TECH) seeks an Electronics Technician, Maintenance I to perform avionics and electronics tasks on aerial target systems at Naval Base Ventura County, Point Mugu, CA.

The role is full-time, non-exempt with travel; candidates must have a high school diploma and 3+ years in operations and maintenance, plus the ability to read manuals and use test equipment. U.S. citizenship and DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience in performing systems Operations & Maintenance (4790 Maintenance experience desired).
• Possess a strong basic avionics/electronics. Work includes using hand tools, power tools, and engine and electronics test equipment.
• Must be able to read and interpret maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
• Computer / Networking I MS Office.
• Must be knowledgeable in testing systems and components to ensure functionality in accordance with procedures defined in NAVAIR manuals using specified test equipment.
• Work requirement includes using hand tools, power tools, and engine and electronic test equipment.
• Ability to pass an Industrial I FAA Class 3 or comparable physical (such as a commercial driver license physical).
• Current Driver's License required; must be able to be insured through company's vehicle insurance policy while driving work/government/rental vehicles during working hours, and for the duration of employment.
• U.S. Citizenship required and you must be able to obtain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance prior to start date and maintain a Secret clearance throughout employment.
• All candidates will be required to pass background screening to include SSN, Driver Record, and Criminal Background Investigation.

Responsibilities

• Perform electronics and avionics tasks on aerial target systems and subsystems (BQM-34, BQM-177, or BQM-74 Targets).
• Assist higher level technicians or lead positions in activities such as build-up or replacing aerial target components, wiring harnesses/circuits, troubleshooting systems and subsystems.
• Repair simple electronic equipment; use tools and test equipment; receive guidance from supervisor or higher level technicians.
• Maintain equipment logs, maintenance action forms and work-time tracking sheets.
• Learn aerial target launch pad evolutions at Pt. Mugu and deployed sites.
