Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and calibrate electronic, electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment at wastewater plants and pump stations.
  • Install, maintain and repair SCADA systems and data communication equipment for monitoring and control of wastewater operations.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic circuits, sensors, relays, controllers, meters, power modules, timers, and related equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and calibrate equipment to ensure safe, accurate operation per specifications.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; modify as needed and maintain records.

The Department of Environmental Services is looking for seven (7) Electronics Technician's to perform a wide variety of highly skilled electronic and electrical work in wastewater pumping stations, wastewater treatment plants, wastewater laboratories, storm drain pumping stations, machine and electric shops, and other public buildings and facilities.

What You Will Do:
  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, modify, and calibrate electronic, electrical, instrumentation, and control equipment used at wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
  • Install, maintain, and repair SCADA systems and data communication equipment used to monitor and control wastewater operations.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic circuits and components, including sensors, relays, controllers, meters, power modules, timers, and other industrial electronic equipment.
  • Inspect, test, and calibrate electronic equipment and instrumentation to ensure proper operation, safety, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Read and interpret electrical and electronic wiring diagrams and schematics, make necessary modifications, and maintain equipment, tools, instruments, supplies, and related work records.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities of the position.

Experience Requirement

Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality to competently perform the journey level skills and duties of this position. Such experience must have demonstrated knowledge of the principles and theories of electricity and electronics as they apply to the installation, maintenance, repair and calibration of electrical and electronic power and control systems; operation and maintenance of various testing and measuring equipment and devices; and tools and instruments used in repairing electrical and electronic equipment; and the ability to read, understand and prepare plans and schematic diagrams of electrical and electronic circuits; and use testing and measuring equipment and devices to trouble shoot and diagnose defects in electrical and electronic systems.

License Requirement

Valid driver's license (Type 3/automobile), prior to appointment.
