Job summary

Astek Corporation in Colorado Springs is seeking a part-time, temporary Electronics Technician reporting to Astek’s Manufacturing Engineer. The role involves production test processing of electronic boards and chassis, troubleshooting, inspection to IPC class 2, and firmware updates before shipment.

You will assist with test software trials, procedure improvements, and manufacturing yield reporting, while maintaining test stations and packaging products for shipment.

Qualifications

• Component level troubleshooting and repair.
• Fine pitch soldering and rework.
• Ability to read schematic, and perform rework based on schematic markups without assistance.
• Experience running test programs for electronic products using Windows platforms.
• Good fundamental knowledge of electronics.
• Experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

Responsibilities

• Production test processing of electronic boards and chassis.
• Troubleshoot and repair defects in printed wiring boards and electronic chassis.
• Inspect electronic boards to IPC class 2 requirements.
• Perform component level rework, including fine pitch component replacement, wire-adds and pcb repairs.
• Provide test station maintenance and upgrades and keep their software and operating systems up to date.
• Provide manufacturing tryouts for new or updated manufacturing test software and for new firmware.
• Update firmware on existing stocked product that needs the latest firmware loaded before shipment.
• Assist with writing test and assembly procedures, and review/improve existing procedures.
• Contribute to production yield reporting.
• Assist with packaging and shipping Astek products.

Candidates must have US citizenship or current authorization to work in the US. At this time, Astek is not offering travel expenses for interviews or relocation expenses and candidates should already be located in the Colorado Springs area.
