Job summary

University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring an Electronics Specialist - Journey to operate and maintain critical building electronic/electrical systems across campus facilities. The position requires an associate degree in electronics or equivalent, deep knowledge of NEC/NFPA codes, and the ability to train others.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• In-depth knowledge of the NEC and NFPA codes with ability to train others.
• Ability to interpret information from O&M manuals and read schematics.
• Experience providing support for advanced labs (BSL 2+ and 3).
• Requires a valid NC Driver’s License or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Operates and maintains specialized classroom and building electronic/electrical systems.
• Uses specialized meters and equipment to gather data and report findings.
• Writes preventive maintenance programs for electrical systems.
• Maintains documentation for facilities systems for health care facilities.
• Travel and on-call as required; comply with safety guidelines.
