Job summary

The University of Kansas Lawrence Campus seeks a student employee in an hourly, non-exempt role within the Electrical Engr & Comp Sci department. You will distribute probe kits and electronic components, maintain stock inventories, and perform basic repairs on tools and equipment while assisting faculty and students with service issues.

During the academic year you must enroll in at least 6 credit hours; summer terms have additional enrollment requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic electronic tools, equipment, and accessories.
• Basic electronic theory.
• Ability to recognize electronic component packaging (TO cases, SM, axial, radial, DIP, etc.).
• Basic soldering proficiency.
• Basic computer literacy in both hardware and software (OS only).

Responsibilities

• Distribute probe kits and electronic components; maintain inventory of kits and stock; perform basic repair on tools and accessories.
• Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and verification of equipment.
• Communicate with faculty and students concerning service issues.
