Job summary

University of Kansas, KU School of Engineering, is seeking a student hourly technician to support electronics tools and equipment. Responsibilities include distributing probe kits, maintaining inventory, performing basic repairs, and assisting faculty and students with service issues.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic electronic tools, equipment and accessories.
  • Basic electronic theory.
  • Ability to recognize electronic component packaging (TO cases, SM, axial, radial, DIP, etc.).
  • Basic soldering proficiency.
  • Strong verbal skills.
  • Basic computer literacy in both hardware and software (OS only).

Responsibilities

  • Distribute probe kits and electronic components; maintain inventory of kits and stock.
  • Perform basic repairs to tools, electronics and accessories.
  • Calibrate and verify equipment; perform routine maintenance.
  • Communicate service issues to faculty and students.
  • General janitorial tasks in work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
