Job summary

Paradigm Information Services, Inc. is seeking an Electronics Rework/Touch-Up Technician to support a leading electronics manufacturer in Hillsboro.

This hands-on role involves completing touch-up, hand-add, soldering, and rework on electronic assemblies, with emphasis on IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards. The ideal candidate has experience with soldering irons or rework equipment, can read assembly drawings, and is comfortable using a microscope for detailed tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Experience with electronics touch-up, soldering, hand-add, repair or rework is preferred.
  • Experience in IPC-A-610 controlled electronics manufacturing environment.
  • IPC-A-610 certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using soldering irons or electronic rework equipment.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and build instructions.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and part numbers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and steady hands with small components.
  • Ability to work at a microscope or production workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to comply with LEAN manufacturing and ISO 9000 processes.
  • Ability to comply with ITAR requirements.
  • Occasional lifting up to 10 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Complete touch-up, hand-add, soldering, and rework on electronic assemblies.
  • Ensure work meets IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards.
  • Review assembly drawings and build documentation before starting work.
  • Use soldering irons, ERSA equipment, and approved rework tools.
  • Identify components, part numbers, polarity, placement, and workmanship concerns.
  • Communicate quality issues that may delay completion of an assembly.
  • Identify and redline documentation discrepancies for supervisor review.
  • Operate only equipment with proper training or certification.
  • Follow safety procedures (ESD, chemical, MSDS).
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area.

Job Description

Paradigm is seeking an Electronics Rework/Touch-Up Technician to support our industry leading client in Electronics Manufacturing . This is a hands-on production position responsible for completing touch-up, hand-add, soldering, and rework activities on electronic assemblies.

The ideal candidate has experience working with soldering irons or electronic rework equipment, can identify components and part numbers, and is comfortable using a microscope while completing detailed work to IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Type : 6-month contract to hire

As an Electronics Rework/Touch-Up Technician, you will:

  • Complete touch-up, hand-add, soldering, and rework activities on electronic assemblies.
  • Ensure completed work meets IPC-A-610 Class 2 standards unless otherwise specified.
  • Review assembly drawings, build documentation, and new-product-introduction information before beginning work.
  • Use soldering irons, ERSA equipment, and other approved rework tools.
  • Identify components, component part numbers, polarity, placement, and workmanship concerns.
  • Communicate quality issues that may delay or prevent completion of an assembly.
  • Identify and redline documentation discrepancies for review by the supervisor or document-control team.
  • Only operate equipment for which proper training or certification has been completed.
  • Follow ESD, chemical, MSDS, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized production area.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience with electronics touch-up, soldering, hand-add, repair, or rework.
  • Experience working in an IPC-A-610-controlled electronics manufacturing environment.
  • IPC-A-610 certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using soldering irons or electronic rework equipment.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings, build instructions, and other technical documentation.
  • Ability to identify electronic components and component part numbers.
  • Excellent attention to detail and steady hands when working with small components.
  • Ability to work at a microscope or production workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to distinguish between colors accurately and identify very small components.
  • Basic computer and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Ability to learn LEAN manufacturing and ISO 9000 processes.
  • Ability to comply with ITAR requirements.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 10 pounds.
