Job summary

Trust Automation in California is seeking a Repair Technician II to diagnose, analyze, and repair components and finished products. You will work under the Manufacturing Supervisor, use established tools and test equipment, and document findings to ensure conformity with original specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; Associate degree or higher in Electronics strongly preferred.
• 4–6 years hands-on experience repairing complex mechanical and/or electronic assemblies or systems.
• Proven soldering and de-soldering expertise per J-STD or equivalent standards.
• Proficient with advanced electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
• Strong competency in reading and applying electronic schematics, assembly docs, and engineering drawings.
• Working proficiency with SSH, Telnet, and serial interfaces.
• Exposure to on-board programming or configuration of PALs, microcontrollers, or similar devices.
• Solid knowledge of RS-232/485/422, USB, Ethernet standards.
• ERP system proficiency; commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
• This position may require driving with a valid CA driver's license and clean record.
• Identity verification processes for secure portals may be required.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose, analyze, and repair components and products across Trust Automation lines.
• Determine root cause and define repair or upgrade pathways within guidelines.
• Execute complex soldering, rework, and mechanical repairs with minimal rework.
• Recreate reported failures to validate failure modes.
• Validate repairs through functional and performance testing on production test systems.
• Communicate findings, risks, and status to Manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
• Provide technical guidance to Level I technicians.
• Contribute to continuous improvement via failure-trend feedback.
