Job summary

HDL Research Lab Inc. seeks an entry-level Production Assembler (Conformal Coat) to coat printed circuit boards and assemblies for defense and aerospace applications. Training is provided and no prior experience is required.

You will read drawings, mix coating material, coat parts by dip/brush/spray, assist with encapsulation, and perform self-checks to meet quality standards. This on-site Texas role involves documenting job tracking and contributing to process improvements.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and comprehend drawings, schematics, production aides, quality documents, etc.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management with ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to learn conformal coat processes.

Responsibilities

• Coat PCBs and assemblies by dip, brush, or spray.
• Prepare parts per drawings and work instructions.
• Assist with potting/encapsulation tasks.
• Self-check work before passing to quality control.
• Log production jobs for accurate tracking and process improvement.

The Production Assembler (Conformal Coat) will coat the printed circuit boards and assemblies of power electronics for the defense and aerospace industry.

• Clean and prepare assigned parts in accordance with production drawings, work instructions, and verbal instructions.
• Mix coating material and coat parts by dip, brush, or spray.
• Assist with potting (encapsulation) tasks.
• Self-check work before passing forward to ensure parts meet quality requirements.
• Assist with rework on defective parts that are rejected by inspection or test personnel.
• Log in and out of production jobs for accurate job tracking.
• Recommend process changes where practical.
• Wear personal protective equipment in accordance with training guidelines.
• Perform other jobs as needed.

Requirements

• US Citizenship or Permanent Resident status.
• Ability to maintain industry certifications - IPC-J-STD-001, IPC-J-STD-001 SPACE, and IPC-610.
• Ability to read and comprehend drawings, schematics, production aides, quality documents, etc.
• Ability to demonstrate visual acuity.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Excellent time management with the ability to multitask and prioritize work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Preferred, But Not Required:

• Previous experience in electronic assembly or general manufacturing.
