Job summary

ABB is seeking a Process Quality Electronics Engineer to drive the quality strategy for a local unit in Richmond, VA. You will partner with cross-functional teams to prevent defects, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions that meet customer expectations.

In this onsite role you will develop testing capabilities, map manufacturing processes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Bachelor in Electronics Engineering or related field with ≥2 years experience.
Ability to read and interpret schematics for PCBA.
Proficient with electrical test equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes).
Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma and other process improvement methodologies is desirable.
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Responsibilities

Analyze defective electronics components returned from customers and inhouse rejections and take corrective action.
Develop testing equipment in coordination with cross-functional teams to test electronic components.
Map current manufacturing processes and identify improvement areas through automation.
Focus on continuous improvement using lean manufacturing principles.
Provide training and support to users on new processes and ensure smooth transitions.
Keep track of emerging technologies and industry trends and recommend innovative solutions.
