Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician at our Longview manufacturing plant. This role troubleshoots, repairs, installs and replaces mechanical and electrical equipment, often fabricating components as needed.

You will coordinate with managers and other employees to ensure smooth operation. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, industrial maintenance experience, an electrical license, forklift certification, and the ability to read a tape measure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Electrical license preferred.
• 3–5 years in industrial maintenance with electrical background.
• Good communication and advanced math skills.
• Forklift certified.
• Able to operate Genie boom and scissor lift.
• Able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Owns a set of industrial hand tools.
• Willing to work flexible hours including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, install or replace mechanical equipment.
• Repair electrical and electro‑mechanical devices and components.
• Coordinate repairs with department managers and employees.
• Fabricate mechanical items as needed with shop tools.
• Maintain and communicate about plant equipment performance.
• Operate and troubleshoot conveyor systems, belts and gears.
• Maintain plant fire system and safety procedures.
• Document calibration and checklist procedures for production equipment.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician at our Longviewmanufacturing plant. This position is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, installing, or replacing mechanical equipment or mechanical, electrical, and electro‑mechanical devices and components. Additionally, the Mechanic will often fabricate any mechanical devices or items which will requiring shop skills or tools as requested. The successful candidate will communicate continuously with department managers and employees to coordinate mechanical and electrical repairs.

Additional responsibilities of the Maintenance, Mechanic/Electrician:

Responsibilities

• Ability to trouble shoot electrical problems and run conduit and wire for plant equipment.
• Physical ability to lift 50lbs., stoop and bend over, not afraid of heights.
• Ability to operate a forklift and a high lift.
• Ability to work with other employees and willing to learn.
• Knowledge of conveyor systems and components, belts, bearing, sprockets, gear reducers
• Hand tool knowledge, welding, cutting, minor fabrication
• Timely communication of problems and issues affecting plant performance to management
• Demonstrate the ability to perform work independently (work alone)
• Perform basic plumbing on machinery and/or equipment
• Communicate with and maintain a team‑based attitude with fellow co‑workers and managers
• Maintain plant fire system
• Document calibration and configuration procedures required to allow production equipment to run efficiently within product specifications

Requirements and Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Prior experience with an electrical license.
• 3-5 years in i ndustrial maintenance is highly preferred with an electrical background.
• Good communication and advanced math skills.
• Must be forklift certified.
• Ability to operate a genie boom, and scissor lift.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Must possess a variety of personally owned industrial hand tools.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and call‑in with little notice.

Education: High School Diploma or GED

Work Hours: 6:00am -2:30pm (depending on business needs)

Hourly Rate: $28.73 - $30.78
