Job summary

Johnson Outdoors Inc. is seeking a Manufacturing Technician for our Alabama facility.

The role supports installation, maintenance, and operation of SMT placement machines, PCB assembly equipment, and test systems used in Engineering and Production. You will troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate equipment, fabricate parts with machine tools, and ensure smooth production flow while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics engineering technology or equivalent.
• Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of experience as an electronics manufacturing technician in consumer goods/PCB environments.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment and systems.
• Broad understanding of production processes; mechanical dexterity in assembly, soldering and inspection.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, documents and procedures.
• Strong teamwork, initiative, time management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair and modify electronics manufacturing equipment and related systems (SMT, PCB, test equipment).
• Operate bench drills and machine tools to fabricate parts.
• Check equipment performance in PCB assembly areas and evaluate under real conditions.
• Set up, maintain and calibrate equipment as needed.
• Assemble, disassemble, modify and inspect production subassemblies.
• Improve process flow and reduce waste with team collaboration.
• Assist in developing and documenting procedures.
• Promote safety and quality standards across the team.
• Inform supervisor of issues affecting production, quality, or safety.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
