Job summary

ND Defense is seeking an Electronics Manufacturing Engineer to support a new product launch in our electronics assembly department. The candidate should have experience with IPC Standards, product testing, and BOE creation for circuit card assemblies and wire harnesses.

The ideal candidate will work on Basis of Estimate development, create technical docs, and optimize manufacturing processes to ensure ISO 9001 compliance and efficient production flows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with 4+ years of related experience.
• Basis of Estimate (BOE) experience required.
• IPC Standards certifications or equivalent experience.
• Experience with wire harness assembly.
• Experience creating test procedures.
• Experience creating work instructions.
• Electronics startup experience preferred.
• Must be a US Person.

Responsibilities

• Assist with basis of estimate creation by providing manufacturing flow times according to contractual requirements.
• Develop technical documentation, including work instructions and engineering drawings.
• Assist in developing jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
• Develop electronics manufacturing processes meeting ISO 9001 standards (ESD, FOD, storage).
• Optimize assembly line layouts to maximize productivity.
• Serve as liaison between customer, manufacturing, QA, and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Assist in test procedure creation and equipment recommendations.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist with basis of estimate creation by providing manufacturing flow times according to contractual requirements.
• Develop technical documentation, including work instructions and engineering drawings to support manufacturing operations.
• Assist in the development of jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing aids.
• Assist in the development of electronics manufacturing processes that adhere to ISO 9001 certification standards such as ESD, FOD, and material storage procedures.
• Optimize assembly line layouts to maximize productivity and improve overall workflow efficiency.
• Serve as technical liaison between customer, manufacturing, quality assurance and vendor and supplier personnel to resolve technical and quality issues.
• Assist in test procedure creation, equipment recommendations, and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering field with 4+ years applicable engineering experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Basis of Estimate (BOE) experience
• IPC Standards Certifications or experience
• Previous experience with Wire Harness assembly required
• Test procedure creation
• Work instruction creation
