Job summary

Emerson Electric Co. is seeking a Hardware Technician to inspect, diagnose, and repair electronic equipment at the component level. You will troubleshoot hardware failures, perform root cause analyses, and verify product functionality through comprehensive testing.

You will use oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators, and power supplies to evaluate performance, document results, and collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to improve reliability and process efficiency.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing electronic hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
• Proficiency with electrical test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair PCBs and electronic assemblies to component level.
• Perform diagnostic testing to identify hardware failures and performance issues.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Replace and rework components using soldering/desoldering techniques.
• Use test equipment (O-scopes, DMMs, signal generators, power supplies) to evaluate performance.
• Conduct functional, environmental, and validation testing on repaired hardware.
• Document repair activities and testing results.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve issues and improve reliability.
• Support root cause investigations and corrective actions; propose process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory requirements.
