Job summary

Nesco Resource, LLC is seeking an Electrical Hardware Engineer to join our North Austin area product development team. This role focuses on designing electronic hardware, PCB development, testing, and troubleshooting for microcontroller-based devices.

The position involves hands-on work with electrical hardware, firmware in C/C++, and collaboration across hardware, firmware, and manufacturing teams to bring products from concept to production.

Qualifications

• Design, develop, and improve electronic circuits and hardware assemblies used in microcontroller-based products.
• Hands-on testing and troubleshooting of circuit boards, electronic components, and embedded systems.
• Write, modify, and troubleshoot embedded firmware in C or C++ for microcontroller-based devices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve electronic circuits and hardware assemblies used in microcontroller-based products.
• Create electrical schematics, develop PCB layouts, and maintain component libraries using Altium Designer.
• Perform hands-on testing and troubleshooting of circuit boards, electronic components, and embedded systems.
• Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, and other laboratory equipment to diagnose electrical issues and verify performance.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to resolve technical challenges.
• Support hardware bring-up activities and investigate circuit behavior; troubleshoot interactions with embedded software.
• Participate in product validation, reliability testing, and performance evaluations before release.
• Investigate product issues during development, manufacturing, or field use and recommend corrective actions.
• Assist with regulatory testing and certification efforts (UL, FCC) and support new product introductions.
