Job summary

Schneider Electric seeks an Electronics Hardware Engineer Co-Op in Cedar Rapids, IA, to gain hands-on experience in electronics design and simulation while evaluating and testing hardware solutions. You'll be mentored by senior engineers in a lab setting and contribute to resiliency improvements.

Qualifications

• Working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field.
• Understanding of electronic circuits and circuit design with courses similar to: electronic circuits, circuit analysis, electromagnetism, signal analysis.
• Ability to discuss a project you have worked on and articulate responsibilities and role.
• Basic abilities with SPICE tools, PCB design suites and MS365.
• Interest in electronics lab equipment, oscilloscopes, power supply, signal generators, etc. Experience is a plus.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work full‑time based in Cedar Rapids, for 6‑months starting January 2026

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design, develop, test, and validate electronic hardware solutions for power distribution and circuit protection products. As well as support electronic products resiliency with design updates, component substitution and cost optimizations.
• Modification of schematics, layout and other design documents.
• Help with prototype builds for testing.
• Write and implement test plans, including test instructions and acceptance criteria.
• Interpret test results and other data.
• Conduct root cause analysis for electronic hardware systems.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Present project summaries to internal experts.
