Job summary

Actalent is seeking an Engineering Technician - Electronics / Destructive Physical Analysis in El Segundo, CA. This on-site role supports evaluation of electrical/mechanical components and PWBs with emphasis on DPA to meet military, space, and industry standards.

The candidate will work with microscopes, metrology tools, soldering equipment, and instrumentation in a fast-paced team setting, with 25-lb lifting capability and occasional swing shifts as needed.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in an analytical laboratory environment.
• Familiarity with microscopes or microscopy tools.
• Experience taking dimensional measurements using calipers, rulers, optical measurement equipment, or similar tools.
• Familiarity with hand tools, basic power tools, soldering, and instrumentation.
• Experience troubleshooting machinery and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to perform detailed work requiring close vision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and analyze electrical and mechanical components and PWBs.
• Perform detailed inspection and analysis using microscopes and optical equipment.
• Take dimensional measurements using calipers, rulers, optical measurement equipment, and similar tools.
• Utilize hand tools, basic power tools, soldering equipment, and instrumentation.
• Troubleshoot machinery, equipment, and test setups.
• Support DPA and component evaluation activities.
• Read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, maintenance instructions, procedures, and documentation.
• Document measurements, observations, test results, and findings.
• Work closely with engineers, analysts, and other technicians in a fast-paced environment.
