Job summary

Kohler Co. is seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician IV to collaborate with electronics and product engineering teams in developing and evaluating next-gen kitchen and bath products. This onsite role in Kohler, WI focuses on prototyping, testing, and regulatory compliance for subassemblies and systems.

You will build prototype circuits, interpret measurements, and mentor others while ensuring documentation is precise and projects meet quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in electronics or mechatronics with 8+ years of related experience.
• Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
• Knowledge of analog, digital, and power electronics.
• Ability to read schematics, circuit board layouts, and mechanical drawings.
• PCB construction and PCBA assembly methods.
• Soldering SMT and through-hole components.
• Experience using electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, generators, power supplies).
• Strong documentation and clear reporting of test procedures and results.
• Ability to work independently and mentor others; strong communication.

As a Electronics Engineering Technician IV, you will be responsible for providing electro-mechanical design guidance, fabricating prototypes, assembling and reworking circuits, and testing a variety of subassemblies and systems for present and future products.

Core Responsibilities

• Select and integrate electro-mechanical components and subassemblies into kitchen and bath products and provide guidance and support to other engineers in this area.
• Build and test prototype circuits, subassemblies, and wire harnesses.
• Perform hands-on measurements and data analysis for new and existing electronic designs.
• Lead implementation and execution of electronics qualification and verification testing, including regulatory compliance.
• Support the business in regulatory and code compliance to UL, CSA, FCC, CE, etc. standards and requirements.
• Document design and test results in a clear and concise manner.

Skills/Requirements

• Two-year associate degree (or higher) in electronics or mechatronics related field and 8+ years of related experience
• Strong hands-on experience with electro-mechanical components and assemblies, including actuators and motors, pumps, sensors and switches, solenoids, etc.
• Deep knowledge of electrical components and circuits including analog, digital, and power electronics
• Demonstrated experience reading and understanding schematics, circuit board layouts, and mechanical drawings
• Clear understanding of PCB construction and PCBA assembly methods
• Ability to assemble / modify surface-mount and through-hole components using soldering irons and similar rework equipment
• Demonstrated experience using a variety of electronic test equipment including multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies
• Good documentation, interpretation, and reporting skills, ensuring accuracy and completeness in test procedures, data, and reports
• Ability to work independently to complete tasks with minimal direction and mentor others in areas of subject-matter expertise
• Strong communication skills in both written and verbal format
