Job summary

Lockheed Martin in Huntsville, AL is seeking an Electronics Engineer Sr Stf (E5) to lead the AFTU hardware development for the NGI program. You will interface with subcontractors, act as the CPE responsible for hardware performance, and coordinate with NGI CPEs and IPTs to ensure on-time delivery of program hardware and related deliverables.

You will oversee hardware integration, test activities, and root-cause analyses while managing risks to meet schedule, cost, and quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience as Responsible Engineer / Product Lead for analog and digital electronics.
  • Experience in development and production of Analog or Digital circuitry.
  • Experience in managing technical subcontractors.
  • Experience supporting product acceptance testing and requirements verification.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance (US citizenship).

Location

This position does not support teleworking. You will need to live near our Lockheed Martin Space Waterton facility and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time.

What does this role look like?

Lockheed Martin is approaching the production phase of the U.S. Army’s premier kinetic energy missile defense system NGI. Electronics Engineer Sr Stf (E5) is an individual contributor on the Autonomous Flight Termination Unit (AFTU) subcontracted electronics box supporting the Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) program. You will be responsible for interfacing and, guiding the subcontractor in order to deliver the mission critical hardware. You will be the Certified Principial Engineer (CPE) responsible for the technical performance of the hardware. You will work closely with an IPT to ensure on time delivery of hardware and program deliverables.

Key Activities You Will Accomplish In This Role
  • Oversee the integration and test of all AFTU hardware
  • Act as the product lead interfacing with the subcontractor as well as internally to other NGI CPEs/stakeholders, providing guidance and approval across all program deliverables contained within the AFTU. This includes SDRL, design reviews, Engineering Material Review board (EMRB) hardware discrepancies, nonconformance investigation/resolutions, failure review boards (FRBs), software and firmware test and qualification, failure investigations and Root Cause Corrective Action implementation.
  • Provide technical oversight for flight test operations, collaborating with internal stakeholders within the NGI program
  • Ensure the subcontractor meets program requirements
  • Ensure test anomalies are driven to root cause during development testing all the way through to production test
  • Generation of End Item Data Package for Product Certification, and integration of AFTU assembly into system.
  • Manage risks and identify mitigation plans to meet productivity, quality, cost, schedule, and mission success objectives
To Be Effective In This Role
  • Experience in a Responsible Engineer / Product Lead role for analog and digital electronics.
  • Experience in development and production of Analog and/or Digital Electronic circuitry.
  • Experience collaborating in the development of electronics software/firmware
  • Familiarity with processes on failure investigation (root cause analysis, Failure Review Boards, etc.), and Material Review Board (MRB) experience
  • Experience in launch vehicle or missile systems.
  • Supporting electronics production including solving development, build and test issues
  • 8+ years’ professional experience in hardware

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience working with Subcontractors, sub-tier suppliers and supplier technical management
  • Experience in development of electronics embedded software/firmware.
  • Experience as an Electronics Product Engineer in efforts to certify avionics hardware, and its interfaces to other systems, as ready for flight.
  • Supporting electronics production including solving build and test issues
  • Proficiency with end item hardware development.
  • Familiarity with processes on failure investigation (root cause analysis, Filure Review Boards, etc.).
  • Supporting both system and subsystem integration test execution, including environmental and ground testing.
  • Has demonstrated proficient presentation skills and associated presentation tools.
  • Knowledge of subsystem/system requirements and process.
  • Material Review Board (MRB) experience.
  • Ability to interpret electrical and wiring schematics.
  • Electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to review and troubleshoot Software and Firmware
  • Mentor Graphics, ORCAD, Zuken or comparable drawing package.
  • Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice.
Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $145100.00 - $269500.00
