Job summary

Lockheed Martin is seeking an Electronics Engineering intern to join our Operations Engineering team. You’ll work on the design, development, testing, and integration of electronic systems for aerospace and defense projects in a hands-on environment.

This hands-on role focuses on equipment development, factory automation projects, modeling solutions, and collaboration across reviews and safety procedures. U.S. citizenship and access requirements apply for this facility.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior (3rd year) in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
• Strong academic foundation in analog/digital circuit design and embedded systems.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with soldering, test equipment, and prototype building.
• US Citizenship required; facility requires special access.

Responsibilities

• Participate in bench-level testing of prototypes and troubleshoot hardware issues.
• Develop test software for microcontrollers and FPGAs (C/C++, Verilog/VHDL).
• Support documentation: update design reports, test procedures, and compliance matrices.
• Attend product reviews, team meetings, and cross-functional workshops; provide status updates.
• Follow safety, quality, and security protocols in all activities.

Lockheed Martin is seeking a motivated candidate to join our team as an Electronics Engineering intern. In this role, you will join a high‑performance team in Operations Engineering where you will have opportunities to support the design, development, testing, and integration of electronic systems for a variety of aerospace and defense projects. This is a hands‑on role focused on equipment and hardware for development and production programs. You will have the opportunity to collaborate on the design and development of factory automation projects, modeling solutions, writing software, etc. Must be a US Citizen.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in bench‑level testing of prototypes: configure instrumentation (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers), collect data, and troubleshoot hardware issues.
• Contribute to the development of test software for microcontrollers and FPGAs (C/C++, Verilog/VHDL) under guidance.
• Support documentation activities: update design reports, test procedures, and compliance matrices.
• Attend product reviews, team meetings, and cross‑functional workshops; provide status updates and technical input.
• Follow safety, quality, and security protocols in all engineering activities.

Basic Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a junior (3rd‑year) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a closely related discipline; pursuing a Bachelor’s degree.
• Strong academic foundation in analog/digital circuit design, signal processing, and embedded systems.
• Hands‑on laboratory experience: soldering, using test equipment, and prototype building.
• Must be a US Citizen.; This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills

• Proficiency with at least one CAD/EDA tool (e.g., Altium, Eagle, KiCad) or willingness to learn quickly.
• Familiarity with microcontroller development (Arduino, STM32, PIC, etc.)
• Basic programming experience (C/C++, Python)

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $24.37 - $28.15

Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
