Job summary

Nidec Motor Corporation in Rancho Cordova, CA has an open position for an electronic sustainment engineer in the Research and Development Department. You will support the existing elevator products and work with design, quality, and other department resources to resolve field and production issues.

The role requires a bachelor's degree in electronic engineering (or equivalent) with hands-on PCB design experience and proficiency with test equipment; you will write ECOs, review PCB changes,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant engineering experience (or 5+ with B.S).
  • Experience with PCB design and test equipment desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support existing elevator products within R&D.
  • Collaborate with design, quality, and other teams to resolve issues.
  • Write ECOs and process cross approvals for End-of-Life components.
  • Redesign, test, and debug electronic circuitry.
  • Review PCB changes on existing product layouts.
  • Perform root cause analysis to improve designs.
  • Write reports and execute test plans.

Job Description

Nidec Motor Corporation in Rancho Cordova, CA has one open position for electronic sustainment engineer within the Research and Development Department.

Job Descriptions:

  • Supporting the existing elevator products
  • Working with design and development engineers, Quality engineers and other department resources to resolve field and production/vendors’ issues
  • Write ECO, and process Cross Approvals for End-of-Life components
  • Has capacity to redesign, test and debug electronic circuitry
  • Review changes and approve PCB on the existing products layout
  • Perform root cause analysis to improve design
  • Write Reports, test’s and executes test plans
  • Reports to the Quality and Sustainment Manager
Skills
  • B.S degree in electronic engineering, and min of 5 years’ experience in the engineering field
  • A.S degree in electronic engineering in a combined of min 9 years’ experience in the engineering field
  • Experienced with PCB design tools such as PCAD, Altium, AutoCAD
  • Know how to use test equipment such as oscilloscope, DVM, Logic analyzers…
  • Analytical skills in solving electronic problems/issues
  • Understand analog/digital/embedded designs and familiar with VHDL is a plus
  • Demonstrated strong communication skills in verbal and written form
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member in large group across full functional team including suppliers, customers and associates
