Job summary

Job Summary Responsible for building and leading a team of Engineering Managers and Project Engineers during the startup phase, production, and other critical phases of programs and projects throughout the company. The Engineering Director is responsible for manufacturing engineering activities and other critical tasks related to the introduction of new technologies and development of the Product Data Management (PDM/PLM).

Job Description Responsibilities & Duties
  • Assign managers and engineers to programs and projects as needs arise across the business, especially where cross-plant activity is required.
  • Responsible for tool design support related to both new and legacy programs.
  • Work with the assigned Program Managers and other Operational Leadership members to develop new business, advanced manufacturing processes, and manage technical relationships with customers.
  • Ensure consistency and standardization in the deployment of engineering standards and best practices across the enterprise.
  • Lead and develop an organization of Engineers and "Subject Matter Expert" Technical Resources.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • 7+ years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with manufacturing motor components and assemblies. Must be able to read and interpret technical information such as blueprints, drawings, 3D models, and engineering data sets.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing techniques and tools, project management and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements. Must be able to promote a participative, team-oriented environment, working with customers (both internal and external), all employees, vendors and others in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, accounting and financial calculations and projections. Ability to produce and interpret financial reports in graph and diagram form.

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional certification and 10 years of prior relevant experience
