Job summary

The Structures Company is seeking an Electronics Engineer in Irvine to lead the full PCB design cycle for avionics systems in aerospace applications. You will perform schematic design, component selection, layout supervision, bring-up, and validation of hardware for aircraft and launcher electrical systems.

You will work with microcontrollers, MIL-spec hardware, and Altium, perform design reviews, and support updates driven by obsolescence and evolving requirements, ensuring robust verification

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years in electronics design and development.
• Experience from concept to functional prototype.
• Proficiency with Altium and test equipment.
• Familiarity with MIL-spec hardware and harnessing.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the full PCB design cycle including schematic design, component selection, supervision or completion of layout, bring-up, functional verification, and performance testing.
• Designs, develops, integrates, and debugs avionics systems and subsystems for aircraft and launcher electrical systems.
• Defines wire harnesses connecting systems within the air vehicle.
• Supports design updates driven by product improvements, obsolescence, and evolving requirements.
• Conducts peer-level and cross-disciplinary design reviews.
• Performs circuit board design, bring-up, and validation from concept to functional prototype.
• Applies knowledge of analog, mixed-signal, and digital circuits and components for system integration.
• Uses common test equipment and CAD tools such as Altium for design and validation.
• Works with microcontrollers, common serial interfaces, and firmware or software integration.
• Applies familiarity with MIL-spec hardware and harnessing for aerospace systems.
