Job summary

The Structures Company in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Aircraft Electrical Mechanic for a 12-month contract with potential extension. You will perform on- and off-aircraft electrical modifications, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure systems meet specifications.

Reading engineering drawings and retrofit requirements, you will execute complex connector terminations, wire harness work, and safety procedures. U.S. Person status and 4+ years of relevant experience required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. Person (as defined by ITAR).
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical modification and connector terminations.
  • 4+ years of experience in electrical or electronic theories and systems.
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
  • Ability to ascend/descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
  • Ability to pass visual acuity and color perception tests.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required training certifications.
  • Ability to pass assessment during training cycle and adhere to SA Tool and FOD procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs on and off aircraft electrical modification to electrical wiring and system components.
  • Performs complex connector terminations including shielded wires, coaxial cables, and fiber optic wiring.
  • Reads and interprets engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements for electrical modification or repair.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft electrical and environmental systems at organizational or depot maintenance level.
  • Performs aircraft bench and flight line operational testing and troubleshooting.
  • Performs assembly, installation, check-out, operational testing, and modification of wire bundles.
  • Interprets work instructions, charts, tables, blueprints, wire diagrams, formulas, sketches, verbal and electronic orders, and job layouts.
  • Diagnoses and corrects malfunctions in assembly processes.
