Job summary

TechINT Solutions Group is seeking an electronics technician to perform circuit analysis, develop accurate schematics, and support law enforcement investigations at the TEDAC/TExU site. The role involves soldering, reverse engineering, and data recovery using advanced instrumentation on complex devices.

Travel up to 10% internationally is required, and candidates must hold an active TS clearance. A bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering is required, with experience in testing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field.
  • Active Top Secret clearance required to be considered.
  • Experience testing electronic or electrical devices with standard lab equipment.
  • Experience performing analysis, generating schematics, and troubleshooting devices to component level.
  • Knowledge of PCB layout and inter-IC interfaces (I2C, SPI, LPC, or PCIE).
  • Ability to prepare written documents and brief findings to clients and partners.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% internationally.

TechINT is looking for a skilled individual to work on site at the Terrorist Explosive Device Analytical Center (TEDAC) Technical Exploitation Unit (TExU). The successful applicant will perform electronic and trend analysis of IEDs and associated components to include device identification, radio frequency and signal characterization, electrical schematic reconstruction, electronic data recovery and possible trends in IED related matters. This will help capture critical information regarding the device’s functionality to provide detailed analysis reports to law enforcement organizations, military services, and international partners. Job Description

Perform circuit analysis of electronic circuits & schematics to determine functionality. Develop accurate schematics of complicated devices in various conditions in a timely fashion. Conduct soldering/de‑soldering of electronic components, reverse engineering, schematic generation, troubleshooting, and testing. Accurately enter characteristics of devices into databases & other tools for further analysis. We’re looking for an electronics technician who can use their skills to apply advanced technical solutions in support of law enforcement investigations.

Our team performs a wide range of technical examinations required to successfully exploit both commercial and custom electronic devices, including performing electronic data recovery and digital forensic examinations to identify and understand information of interest. In addition, you’ll conduct reverse engineering and characterization of both the electrical function and communication characteristics of electronic circuits, while using complex instrumentation to test circuit function.

*NOTE: This position will have TDYs. They will typically last 1-2 weeks!

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineeringor other applicable field.
  • Must have TS clearance active to be considered.
  • Experience testing electronic or electrical devices with standard lab equipment, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, RF signal generators, waveform generators, audio analyzers, DSP analyzers, and multimeters
  • Experience performing analysis, generating schematics, and troubleshooting electronic or electrical devices to the component level in various conditions
  • Knowledge of electronic circuit design and PCB layout
  • Knowledge of physical interfaces used for inter-IC communication, including I2C, SPI, LPC, or PCIE
  • Ability to prepare written documents, including reports, test plans, design specifications, requirements documents, and training materials
  • Ability to brief and present findings to clients, customers, and external partners, interact with client engineers, and respondto technical questions and requests from customers
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time internationally
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Chain of Custody and evidence handling procedures in a forensic laboratory
  • Experience imaging, extracting, and parsing data from electronic devices
  • Experience with reverse engineering tools, including IDA Pro, OllyDbg, or Ghidra
  • Knowledge of microcontroller architecture, including ARM or RISC-V, and assembly language programming
  • Ability to program with Python, C, and C++ programming languages
