Job summary

Itape in Kentucky is seeking an Electronics Technician responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical/electronic equipment on the plant floor, with focus on safe, prompt repairs to minimize downtime and maximize production quality.

Responsibilities include calibrating instrumentation, updating schematics, working with shift mechanics, training new technicians, and serving as liaison with vendors and IT for control systems and network drives.

Qualifications

• Two-year electronics degree and/or five years industrial electronics experience.
• Must be available for afterhours emergency breakdowns and assist maintenance whether it be remote or onsite help.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize work requests in order of equipment criticality.
• Address other work orders and infrared survey items when time allows.
• Calibrate load cells and other instrumentation items to set standards.
• Tag parts to be sent out for repairs and fill out related paperwork.
• Work with shift mechanics on problem resolution.
• Keep work area clean and orderly.
• Maintain safe work habits and ensure equipment operates safely.
• Assist in training of new maintenance technicians.
• Act as liaison for outside vendors and contractors on electrical controls, software, PLCs/Drives, electronics upgrades, etc.
• Update electrical schematics edits and store them in the company database.
• Manage network drive additions and troubleshooting; liaise between IT and plant.
• Assist engineers and technicians on electrical/electronic projects and upgrades.
• Support PLC and Drives upgrades and program changes; manage MOCs and documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting and root cause analysis for control system failures.
