Job summary

Saab AB in New York is seeking an Electronics Commodity Management Professional to lead strategic sourcing for electronics across North America and international operations as needed.

You will develop category strategies and manage supplier relationships to drive value in quality, delivery, cost, and innovation, while shaping risk and opportunities in a fast-paced defense-related environment.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain Management or Engineering is required.
• 8+ years with BA/BS, or 6+ years with a Master’s degree, of experience in Sourcing or Supply Chain Management is required.
• Strong financial acumen related to sourcing and supply chain.
• Strong electronics technical background.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Leadership and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop commodity category strategies to drive value in Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, and Sustainability within the supply base.
• Lead supplier selection and negotiation for first-time contracts with new suppliers.
• Manage approved supplier list for electronics commodities.
• Support win business processes by onboarding critical suppliers.
• Analyze data to understand supply base and commodity categories.
• Perform market research and analyze trends for electronics category.
• Identify risks and opportunities within electronics category through SWOT and assessments.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to determine near and long-term needs.
• Create an adaptable supply chain for electronics commodities.
• Lead supplier evaluations to assess capabilities and processes.
• Conduct spend analysis and lead cost reduction initiatives with supplier agreements.
• Participate in Quarterly Business Reviews for critical suppliers.
• Support Saab Inc. Small Business objectives and promote diversity in supply base.
• Collaborate to develop a supplier evaluation and scoring system for data-driven decisions.
• Develop or modify SOPs and work instructions.
