Job summary

Abbott seeks a Category Manager for Electronics in Minnesota, based in Plymouth or St. Paul. You will lead global sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and drive cost reductions while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with R&D, Operations and Supply Chain; perform TCO analyses; implement category strategies to support growth and margins. Strong negotiation and risk management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
• 6–10 years of Procurement and/or deep category management experience.
• 3 years in regulated industry.
• Strong contract negotiation experience.
• Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational, follow-up, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Ability to travel approximately 20%, including international.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute global electronics category sourcing strategies.
• Drive total cost reduction and supplier consolidation.
• Identify and mitigate supply risks and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Lead supplier negotiations and contract management.
• Collaborate with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and corporate procurement.
• Implement supplier scorecards and business reviews.
• Provide market intelligence to inform strategy and procurement decisions.
• Manage supplier performance and continuity of supply.
