Job Description:

This position is a bargaining represented position and is responsible for all aspects of assembly and repair of printed circuit boards, electronic cabinets, cable harnesses, and/or electro-mechanical assemblies. Typical duties may include: hand soldering, mechanical assembly, inspection, cable assembly, electronic rack assembly, electronic system assembly, point-to-point wiring.

Essential Functions:

1. Ability to read, understand, and interpret electronic and mechanical diagrams and assembly instructions.
2. Able to obtain IPC-610 and/or J Standard 001 certifications.
3. Demonstrated aptitude for mechanical assembly.
4. Ability to tolerate exposure to solder paste, flux, and solder fumes.
5. Proficient computer skills to include using Microsoft products (i.e., Word, email).
6. Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
7. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.

Qualifications:

1. High school diploma or equivalent.
2. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

1. Experience in mechanical assembly, hand soldering, and self-inspection.
2. IPC-620 certifications.
3. Three (3) or more years of experience in a high-tech electronics environment.
4. Completion of a certified technical school training.
