Job summary

Honeywell Technologies Building Automation seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer for Electronics Assembly & Automation at Northford, CT. You will own and optimize electronic assembly processes, lead NPI transfers, and drive FPY and OEE improvements on 100% on-site work.

You will collaborate with global teams, apply PFMEA/DOE methods, and implement automated inspection and robotics solutions while ensuring compliance with safety, quality and customer requirements.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in electronic assembly/PCBA.
  • Hands-on knowledge of SMT, soldering, inspection, test, automation, and defect-analysis methods.
  • Experience with SPC, process capability, DOE, PFMEA, and structured problem solving.
  • Experience developing manufacturing documentation and supporting NPI, process validation, and ECR/ECX control.
  • Ability to work with global cross-functional teams and communicate technical information in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.

Responsibilities

  • Own and improve automated and manual electronic assembly processes across through-hole, selective or wave soldering, hand soldering, cleaning, coating, depaneling, inspection and rework.
  • Develop and maintain process specifications, equipment recipes, setup sheets, control plans, PFMEAs, work instructions and training materials.
  • Support NPI builds and product transfers; lead DfM/DFx reviews, tooling readiness, process validation and production release.
  • Use SPC, DOE and Pareto analysis to improve FPY, OEE, throughput, changeover time and labor productivity.
  • Troubleshoot process, material, design, programming, fixturing, soldering, test and automation issues; implement corrective actions.
  • Create and optimize equipment programs, fixtures, tooling, inspection criteria and error-proofing solutions.
  • Implement and maintain automated visual inspection systems for reliable product verification.
  • Partner with maintenance on preventive/predictive maintenance, calibration and spare parts.
  • Lead Lean / Six Sigma improvements and capital projects; manage risk, schedule and supplier performance.
  • Train and mentor engineers, technicians and operators; support documentation and skill matrices.
  • Communicate results through reports, reviews and engineering change-control processes.
