Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician I to support assembly, test, and production work on electro-mechanical devices. You will read drawings, assemble wiring harnesses, test circuits, and help ensure quality during fast-paced manufacturing.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, hands-on tool experience, and the ability to work under supervision. U.S. citizenship required, with safety-conscious teamwork in a premium defense environment.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Experience with basic hand and power tools.
  • Typically 1–2 years in a technical/assembly environment.
  • Familiarity with standard electronic test equipment is a plus.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Responsibilities

  • Wire harness fabrication with splicing, crimping, Molex connectors and soldering.
  • Potting and encapsulation of connectors/electronics.
  • Read and follow engineering drawings, BOMs, procedures and docs.
  • Troubleshoot assembly issues under limited supervision.
  • Assemble and test mechanical systems with standard test equipment.
  • Follow safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
  • Assist with basic facility maintenance and clean-up.

Summary

The Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technician I is responsible for supporting assembly, test, and production work related to electro-mechanical devices. Tasks include electrical assembly, wire harness fabrication, circuit board component installation and other tasks essential to electro‑mechanical component fabrication.

What You Will Do
  • Wire harness fabrication utilizing wire splicing, crimping, Molex connector installation and soldering on a multitude of different connectors and cable types
  • Potting and encapsulation of connectors and electronics
  • Read, understand and follow engineering assembly drawings, bill of materials, manufacturing procedures, work instructions, and miscellaneous supporting documentation
  • Ability to troubleshoot assembly issues under limited supervision
  • Assembly and test of various mechanical systems using standard electronic test equipment
  • Observe safety and security procedures, report potentially unsafe conditions
  • Assist with basic facility maintenance and clean‑up
What We Are Looking For
  • Required Education: High School diploma
  • Required Experience: Experience with basic hand and power tools
  • Typically possesses 1‑2 years of related experience in a technical and/or assembly environment
  • Familiarity with operating standard electronic test equipment – oscilloscopes, meters, frequency generators, etc. a plus
  • Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, and a strong desire to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
  • Physical requirements: moderate physical and repetitive work, standing for extended periods, use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
