Job summary

Karman Space & Defense is seeking Assembly Technicians in Mukilteo, WA, for hands-on assembly and support roles in engineering and manufacturing. Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, reading blueprints, and supporting engineering testing.

  • Perform mechanical assembly according to instructions.
  • Support engineering testing and manufacturing efforts.
  • Read and understand blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams.
  • Assist with packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment.

Summary

We are looking for Assembly Technicians at all levels of experience for a hands‑on work environment performing a variety of tasks to support the engineering, manufacturing and production teams. Daily responsibilities may include production assembly, engineering assembly, receiving support, packaging and shipping. Previous experience with electromechanical assembly, ESD sensitive hardware, or a clean room environment is encouraged. The Assembly Technician reports to the Technician Lead.

What You Will Do
  • Performs mechanical assembly according to verbal and written instructions including fastening, bonding, and riveting
  • Supports engineering testing, manufacturing efforts
  • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics and technical diagrams
  • Uses chemicals, adhesives, and solvents as required
  • Works with the ERP (Epicor) system to track hardware, and ensure jobs are completed on time
  • Assists with test setup and execution when needed
  • Assists with packaging and shipping of hardware and equipment
  • Observes safety and security procedures, reports potentially unsafe conditions
What We Are Looking For
  • Required Education: High School diploma
  • Required Experience: Experience with basic hand and power tools, strong mechanical aptitude
  • Possesses a strong desire to work in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment
  • Typically possesses: >2 years experience in aerospace, defense experience, or manufacturing environments
  • Demonstrates an exceptional work ethic, attitude and willingness to learn
  • Physical requirements of this position include moderate physical and repetitious work, standing for extended periods of time, the use of stairs and occasional heavy lifting
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience working with FOD
  • Previous experience with ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience working in a high‑paced, challenging work environment with high attention to detail work
