Job Overview

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for an Electronics Assembler B based out of Sykesville, Maryland. The role involves using electronic components, mechanical parts, drawings, and engineering documentation to build completed units such as circuit card assemblies, cable assemblies, wire harnesses, modules, and cabinet assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Obtain necessary information for job assignments and report discrepancies.
• Plan, lay out, assemble, wire, and solder complete electrical/electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics and wiring diagrams for point‑to‑point assembly.
• Perform wiring using harness boards, tie‑in cables, and harnesses; install mechanical parts, components, and fasteners as specified.
• Work as part of an assembly team on various tasks.
• Lay out and construct harness boards for wiring and cable assemblies.
• Mix and apply bonding components and encapsulates.
• Perform product finishing functions such as conformal coating, painting, and epoxy applications.
• Use and operate hand tools, assembly equipment, and safety equipment.
• Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly condition.
• Attend company‑sponsored training courses for skill development.

Basic Qualifications

• Current active US Government Secret Security Clearance (minimum) with investigation date less than 5 years ago.
• High school graduate or GED with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in electronics, test, assembly, or manufacturing/production.
• Experience in electrical assembly and wiring, and soldering of PC boards.
• Ability to read drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Availability to work 1st or 2nd shift (training on 1st shift, then either stay on 1st shift or move to 2nd shift).
• Capability to complete basic solder certification, visual acuity test, and in‑house skills training.
• U.S. Citizenship required for all positions with a government clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics or engineering drawings.
• Previous assembly experience.
• Associate’s degree.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP/MRP systems.
• Circuit card assembly and rework experience.
• Mechanical assembly and repair experience.
