TAD PGS, Inc. in Laurel, MD is seeking an Electronics Assembler to build high‑reliability assemblies including PCBs, cables, and harnesses. You will work with both manual and automated equipment, following engineering and process documentation to ensure quality and traceability.

Responsibilities include soldering, rework, and assisting engineers to develop manufacturing instructions. A strong attention to detail and the ability to operate in a cleanroom are essential.

Qualificações

• HSD or equivalent required.
• Ability to solder/desolder components under a microscope.
• Experience with SMT and high‑reliability assemblies.
• Must be able to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• Capable of working in a Class 8 cleanroom.

Responsabilidades

• Assemble high reliability assemblies (PCBs, cables, harnesses) using hand and automated tools.
• Interface with project/manufacturing engineers to resolve hardware issues.
• Record as‑built data, traceability, and labor hours in databases.
• Perform rework/repair of non‑conforming hardware and SMT work.
• Wind magnetics and assemble subsystems per engineering docs.

We have an outstanding Contract position for anElectronics Assemblerto join a leading Company located inLaurel, MD.

US Citizenship is required.Candidate must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Your primary responsibility will be to utilize the proper tools, equipment, and processes, to assemble high reliability assemblies. These high reliability assemblies include printed circuit boards, magnetic components, cables, and harnesses. Work includes both manual hand operations and the operation of automated assembly equipment.

• These high reliability assemblies include fine pitch printed circuit board assemblies and magnetic components.

• Work could include both manual hand operations and the operation of automated assembly equipment.

• You will Interface with project and manufacturing engineers in resolution of problems on hardware and in order to develop complex manufacturing instructions.

• You will assemble cables, harnesses, and chassis according to engineering documentation and manufacturing process plans.

• You will perform rework/repair of non-conforming hardware, both by hand and with the help of surface mount technology equipment.

• Removal and installation of miniature and micro-miniature components by soldering/ de-soldering .

• You will integrate complex electronic subsystems into operational systems.

• You will accurately record as-built information, traceability requirements, labor hours, and other statistics into computer databases to comply with customer requirements.

• You will verify, hand place , and hand solder components on printed circuit boards in accordance with engineering documentation, manufacturing process plans, and IPC-J-STD-001 standards.

• Miniature and micro-miniature soldering required.

• You will operate and help maintain equipment for cleaning and reflowing.

• You will wind magnetics, both by hand and with the help of a machine.

  Basic Hiring Criteria:

• Hold High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Must have excellent communication skills.

• Have strong organizational skills.

• Must be self-motivated, capable of multi-taking , pay close attention to detail, and capable of following verbal and written instructions.

• Can solder/de-solder components on fine pitch electronic assemblies under a microscope.

• Can work in a collaborative environment with partners both inside and outside of the fabrication team.

• Can solder miniature and micro-miniature surface mount components, size 01005 (0.2 mm by 0.4 mm) and potentially smaller, by hand.

• Have experience soldering and reworking SMT components using JBC nano stations

• Have extraordinary hand coordination and dexterity.

• Can operate surface mount dispensing, installation, reflow, and rework machines as required.

• Have crimp , cable, and harnessing experience.

• Can obtain visual screening prerequisite per NASA-STD 8739.6

• Have the ability to interpret both formal and informal assembly documentation.

• Are willing and able to work in a Class 8 Cleanroom.

• Have a proficiency with PC's and MS Office applications.

• Must be flexible in work hours during occasional periods of heavy workload. Shifted work hours and overtime (some evenings/weekends) could be required for short periods.

  Desired Qualifications:

• Experience in assembly and soldering of electronic printed wiring boards and cable assemblies, preferably in a high mix, low volume SMT facility.

• Experience building electronic hardware for spacecraft.

• Experience wiring chassis.

• Experience with electro-mechanical systems.

• Experience applying polymeric materials to electronics.

• Active certification to IPC-J-STD-001 with space addendum.

• Active certification to IPC-620.

• Active certification to IPC-7711/7721.

• Exposure to manufacturing resource planning (MRP) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) systems.
