Job description

We are looking for an Electronics Assembler 2 to join our team for an onsite role based in Buffalo, New York 14221.

Compensation: $21/hr to $24/hr on W2.

Shift: 2nd Shift (4:00 PM - 12:30 AM, including a 30-minute unpaid break)

Schedule: Monday through Friday (5x8)

Security Clearance: Not required

Role Overview:

Our Aerospace and Defense organization in Buffalo, New York, is inviting a skilled Electronics Assembler to contribute to our diverse team. You will support our mission to develop and manufacture cutting-edge Simulation Systems.

Your Responsibilities:

• Construct electronic components by utilizing assembly diagrams, drawings, and job aids to ensure client specifications are met.
• Execute various technical processes such as fine-pitch circuit card soldering, BGA repair, microelectronics assembly, electromechanical assembly, and wire harness fabrication to support production demands.
• Ensure all assembly tasks are completed in strict adherence to established industry and internal quality standards.
• Verify the integrity of your work by conducting continuity checks throughout the assembly process and upon completion.
• Utilize production tools like soldering stations, crimp equipment, and microscopes while maintaining a secure and controlled environment.
• Examine products for quality compliance, identify nonconformances, and perform necessary repairs to ensure high standards.
• Maintain precise production records within shop floor systems and quality documentation to ensure data accuracy.
• Partner with engineering and supervisory staff to refine build instructions and propose enhancements to existing tooling and workflows.
• Promote a secure workplace by strictly following all safety, ESD, FOD, and cleanliness protocols.
• Complete all mandatory internal workmanship training programs to maintain your qualification status.

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2 years in assembly or electronics, or an associate degree in a technical or electronics field.
• Practical experience with soldering techniques.
• Background in executing manufacturing or assembly duties within a metric-driven environment.
• Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 10 pounds.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current or past certifications in J-STD 001 or IPC-610.
• Demonstrated proficiency in Class 2 level soldering.
• Exceptional manual dexterity for performing precise tasks on miniature assemblies under a microscope.
• Capacity to work autonomously with minimal oversight once trained.
• Proven ability to thrive within a collaborative team setting using strong interpersonal skills.
• Skill in interpreting written instructions and technical drawings to complete assignments.
• Commitment to providing excellent service while executing assembly duties.
• Experience operating within a metric-based manufacturing environment.
• Fundamental computer literacy including Microsoft Office suite applications.
