Job summary

Randstad USA in Coram, NY is seeking a precision testing technician to perform electrical, mechanical, and functional tests on sensors, potentiometers, and electromechanical assemblies, using manual benches and automated LabVIEW-based systems.

You will set up and maintain test equipment, follow drawings and SOPs, document results in ERP/MES, and support root cause investigations while upholding AS9100 quality standards and 5S/Lean practices.

Qualifications

• Ability to read technical drawings, SOPs and customer specs.
• Experience with LabVIEW-based test setups is preferred.
• Awareness of AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality frameworks.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant hand-on testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and functional verification tests on potentiometers and sensor assemblies.
• Set up, operate, and maintain manual and automated test equipment, including LabVIEW-based setups.
• Follow drawings, SOPs, and customer requirements to complete inspection processes.
• Document inspection outcomes and test records in ERP/MES systems.
• Troubleshoot failures and contribute to root cause investigations and corrective actions.
• Assist engineering with development and optimization of test procedures.
• Facilitate First Article Inspections (FAI) and formal qualification testing.
• Uphold AS9100 quality standards and 5S/Lean practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Precision Testing: Perform electrical, mechanical, and functional testing on sensors, potentiometers, and electro-mechanical assemblies.
• Bench & Automation: Operate, calibrate, and maintain manual benches and automated test systems (including LabVIEW setups).
• Component-Level Diagnostics: Isolate anomalies, run root cause analyses (RCA), and troubleshoot down to discrete components.
• Compliance & Traceability: Execute First Article Inspections (FAI), maintain AS9100 quality compliance, and log data in ERP/MES software.
• Process Optimization: Partner with engineering to improve test repeatability, fixture designs, and 5S/Lean workflows.

What We Are Looking For

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting hardware down to the component level using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and schematics.
• Working knowledge of automated testing systems (LabVIEW experience preferred).
• Background following strict blueprints, customer specs, and quality frameworks (AS9100 / ISO 9001).
